Dynamic entrepreneur Ken Barker merged his passion for people with his wealth of experience & formed Barker Insurance Brokers in 1973. Together with his wife Bev Barker & colleague Liz Steele, BIB had its humble beginnings in tiny offices in the Johannesburg CBD. Installing ‘old school’ values and getting to know each client personally has been the cornerstone of Barker Insurance Brokers & the business has grown from strength to strength. A turning point for BIB was moving the personal insurance portfolio to Hollard Insurance in 1986 where a new standard in service and claim settlement emerged. Barker Insurance Brokers has introduced advanced administration and IT systems that have given the company a competitive advantage & has contributed to a paperless ‘˜green’™ office environment. Since its beginnings BIB has effectively extended its family circle to an efficient, motivated team and Ken in particular is delighted at the new levels of service excellence. We are a licensed Financial Service Provider (License number 8416) and have been providing personalized short term insurance solutions to “selective clients” since 1973.
