Originally started by Carlos and Nicky Franco who moved to SA from the UK bringing with them a wealth of culinary experience. The Deli evolved over years, from simple beginnings delivering Deli sandwiches to local offices, to the warm and inviting restaurant that it is today. Nicky and Carlos have moved on, but their warm friendly personalities live on through the staff and the fresh quality meals that are prepared daily. The new owner Ian Naidu shares their knowledge and love for cooking and strives to maintain the high standards and uphold the tradition of quality and freshness which is synonymous with the Deli.

Eat alfresco on our European style patio or enjoy the cosy atmosphere inside. Experience our melt-in-your-mouth fresh home made pasta, ravioli and gnocchi and browse our deli for a wide selection of imported Italian cold meats, cheese, pickles, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and biscuits. Al Dente is the only Italian Deli in Somerset West. We have a set menu consisting of Panini, Pasta dishes, Meat and Chicken dishes, Soups, Dessert (“Tiramisu”) and our own home-made Gelati. We serve daily specials such as veal liver, veal ossobucco, rabbit, tripe, mussels, lamb shank, etc. We serve Segafreddo coffee. Need to eat on the run? Pre-order your lunch and we will have your table ready for you when you arrive. Take the stress out of catering. We will organise platters and lasagne dishes for your next function.
